WHITEY FORD! Wow! Ok, so here's my Whitey Ford TTM story, just to show you all how I get these magical autographs in the mail!
On August 16th, 2009, I went to my first ever White Plains card show. Whitey Ford was there the next day, the Sunday, signing for I believe $80 or $90. So instead of meeting him, which would've been even better, I decided to just buy a $5 picture of the man, and try him TTM. So a few months later (I stall), I sent it to him, a little while after I got back from this guy. Well, a week or so later, I got it back, but this time with a price list and no signature on the picture. I was disappointed, because in order to get the picture signed, I had to send Whitey $50 to his charity, which is less than the card show price, but still high. I figured, what the heck, I need to get him while he was still alive, and so I decided to send him $50. A little while before I sent it I heard rumors on the Sports Card Forum that he signs for $30-35 dollars. I didn't wanna send less, I wanted to make sure I got it signed, and it goes to a good cause anyway. Well, I sent it asking for an inscription, and wouldn't ya know, I got one! "To Drew, Whitey Ford, H.O.F. 74" reads my picture, with a very nice autograph from the greatest pitcher to ever take the mound for the Yankees.
This is another one of my biggest successes, probably better than Peyton even. It wasn't cheap, but I think it may be the best $50 I've ever spent in my life. Leave comments with your opinions and anything you wanna ask me about this! See Ya!
